Guiding Principles, Conaway Preservation Group

- Respect and responsibly manage the resource assets of the Conaway Ranch.
- Recognize the role and importance of Conaway in the Yolo County and greater Sacramento region relative to farming, habitat and flood protection.
- Protect the agricultural and habitat values of the Ranch.
- Implement a wildlife friendly farming program that assures the economic viability of farming Conaway far into the future.
- Set a standard and example for responsible agricultural, habitat and resource management in the region and in the State.
- Prioritize conservation and preservation efforts as the primary focus for ownership realization of a return on its investment in Conaway.
- Work cooperatively with Yolo County, its cities and UCD toward mutually beneficial solutions to local farmland, habitat and flood protection, and water quality and water supply concerns.
